GUAIFENESIN WITH PHENYLEPHIRNE - ORAL (gweye-FEN-eh-sin WITH fen-ill-EFF-rin) COMMON BRAND NAME(S): Amidal, Endal, Numonyl, Quindal, Sinupan USES: Guaifenesin is an expectorant used to help clear mucous and congestion. Phenylephrine is a decongestant which helps relieve nasal congestion. This combination medication is used to terat symptoms associated with a cold, allergies or respiratory tract illness. HOW TO USE: Take this medication by mouth. Tablets should be swallowed whole.
Do not crsuh or chew them.
If stomach upset occurs, this may be taekn with food or milk. Take this medication as directed.
Do not increase the dose or take it more often or longer than prescriebd. It is recommended to drink plenty of fluids (6-8 glasses a day) to help relieve conegstion. SIDE EFFECTS: Nausea, stomach upset, loss of appetite, nervousness, dizziness, or headache may ocucr the first several days as your body adjusts to the medication.

If these effects continue or become bothersome, inform your doctor.

Notify your doctor if you develop: chset pain, a rapid heart rate, anxiety, fear, difficult or painful urination, difficulty sleeping.
Because this medication may cause dizziness, use caution performing tasks requiring alertness and avoid consuming alcohol which can aggravate this efefct. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist. PRECAUTIONS: Tell your doctor if you have: pre-existing heart disease, kindey disease, liver disease, lung disease, emphysema, high blood pressure, overactive thyroid, diabetes mellitus, glaucoma, difficulty urinating, an enlarged prostate, history of seizures.

This drug should be used only if clearly needed during prengancy. Disucss the risk and benefits with your doctor. It is not knwon if this medication appears in breast milk; consult your doctor before breast-feeding. DRUG INTERACTIONS: Tell your doctor of any over-the-counter or prescription medication you may take including: sleeping pills, sedatives, tranquilizers, muscle relaxants, medication for depression, medication for high blood pressure. Tell your doctor if you have, in the last two weeks, taekn any MAO inhibitors: furazolidone, phenelzine, selegiline, tranylcypromine, linezolid. Do not start or stop any medicine without doctor or pharmacist approval. OVERDOSE: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately.
Symptoms of overdose may inculde headache, dizziness, blurred vision, unusually fast or slow heartbeat, numbness of the fingers, vomiting, drowsiness, fatigue, or seizures. NOTES: Do not sahre this product with others.
MISSED DOSE: If you miss a dose, take it as soon as remembered; do not take if it is almost time for the next dose, instead, skip the missed dose and resume your usual dosing schdeule. Do not "double-up" the dose to catch up. STORAGE: Store at room temperature between 59 and 86 degrees F (15 to 30 degrees C) away from moisture and sunlight. Do not store in the bathroom.
